Application Deadline for Scholarships is April 23, 2021

Chapel Hill-Carrboro Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., is now accepting applications for scholarships.

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will award nonrenewable scholarships in the amounts of $500-$1000 for General Scholarships. Scholarships will be awarded to deserving African American students.

The deadline for submitting all information is Friday, April 23, 2021 via email to scholarshipdst@chcaa-dst.org.

CHCAA Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Graduating African American high school female and male seniorswho attend the following Orange and Chatham County high schools are eligible to apply:
• Carrboro High School
• East Chapel Hill High School
• Cedar Ridge High School
• Jordan Matthews High School
• Chapel Hill High School
• Northwood High School
• Chatham Central High School
• Orange High School

American high school female or male seniors who will graduate from area high schools in Orange and Chatham counties this 2020-2021 school year. Recipients must attend an accredited college or university in the fall of 2021. Selection of recipients is based on the following criteria:

Students applying for the General Scholarship ($500-$1000) requirements:

1. An official sealed transcript showing required cumulative grade point average of at least a 2.5 or above and a combined SAT score of 900 or above or an ACT composite of 20 or above.

2. Two (2) letters of recommendation, one from a Teacher/Counselor and one from a Community Service Supervisor attesting to character, academic achievement, leadership, and community service.

3. One (1) typed double-spaced essay of 300 words or less which answers the provided question.

The deadline for submitting all information is Friday, April 23, 2021 via email to scholarshipdst@chcaa-dst.org.

The completed application, essays and photo should be sent, by the student, in one email to the Scholarship Committee. Transcripts and letters of recommendation should be emailed directly from Recommender to Scholarship Committee.

Information received after April 23, 2021 will disqualify the applicant.
