I am disturbed by the gun violence that occurs on what seems like a daily basis in the United States and I believe that something can and should be done about it. We need common sense gun laws in this country. I strongly urge you to introduce and/or support at a minimum, legislation which:
- prevents the seriously mentally ill from purchasing guns,
- bans gun purchases by people on the no-fly or watch list,
- requires background checks for private sales and gun show sales, and
- bans assault-type weapons.
Please act in order to prevent more bloodshed in our churches, schools, movie theaters, outdoor concert parks, and other public areas in our country.
